JFA confirms a breach of its official JFA Passport app: if you use it, don't log out or reinstall for now
A heads-up for anyone with the JFA's official app. The Japan Football Association says a third party gained unauthorized access to JFA Passport on Saturday, Oct 17 (Japan time), from about 3:25 a.m. to about 7 p.m. The JFA and the app's service provider have blocked the access route and temporarily switched off some features, so parts of the app aren't working right now. The important part: the JFA says it is still investigating whether user information, including personal data, was affected. It hasn't confirmed a leak, but it hasn't ruled one out either. In the meantime, the JFA is asking users not to log out, log back in, or reinstall the app. It says no impact on its other systems has been found so far, and it will post updates on JFA.jp, responding under the relevant laws if a leak is confirmed. If you signed up from outside Japan to follow Samurai Blue, keep an eye on the official notice, and as always, be wary of any emails claiming to be from the JFA that ask you to click links or enter details. We'll update you when the JFA shares more.
